Giving Backto the Community

Manoir Ronald McDonald Montreal 2022

Picture
Our generous members returned to Manoir Ronald McDonald Montreal again this year to provide meals for resident families. This huge effort was only possible through the generosity of so many AWCM members - including the women who donated grocery gift cards; helped pick-up, prepare, and deliver food; made Easter cookies; and volunteered on the day to serve residents.

A big thank you to all who helped make this day a success!

"We are delighted to be able to host again groups of volunteers for our Club-Repas activity! So it is with pleasure that the families were able to be spoiled with the delicious meals of the women of American Women's Club-Montréal. Monday, an Easter-inspired meal was served and the families enjoyed themselves. Here are pictures of this beautiful evening. Thank you for the generosity of the American Women's Club-Montréal team. "

Our volunteers had a busy time roasting veggies / baking dinner rolls / making the salad & yummy chocolate dessert as well as serving the residents, packing leftovers and cleaning up!
Thank you to all of our volunteers!

Gen Perez created tri-lingual menus.
Diana Kastner and her daughter Mia made Monster Lasagna.
Christina Strache made potatoes and meatless-meatloaves at home.

Project Chance & Generations Toy Drive

Our club has traditionally given back during the holiday season and this year was no exception as we collected for two charities: Generations and Project Chance. We collected and dropped off unwrapped toys for both organizations. This year our focus was on collecting specifically for 6 - 13-year-old girls.

Through 33 programs across Canada, Ronald McDonald House offers families with sick children a "home" where they can sleep, share meals, and connect with others in similar situations. Every year, generous AWCM members help Ronald McDonald House fulfill its mission by donating, shopping, cooking, delivering and serving meals to families who are in residence.

This year, we gathered again on July 7th to serve a meal to the families of Manoir Ronald McDonald in Montreal. We couldn't have done it without the help of our many AWCM members who donated money, grocery store gift cards, and maple syrup; donated directly to RMH; created home-made food; picked up and stored prepared meals; and volunteered to serve the meals at the Manoir. Thank you!

A note from our friends at Manoir Ronald McDonald:
“Today in the United States it is National Best Friends Day. We take this opportunity to highlight the involvement of the wonderful women who make up the American Women’s Club of Montreal…Yesterday, this team of wonderful women came to offer countless home cooked meals for families. On behalf of the families of the Manor, thank you for your involvement, for several years now, your support and your presence.”

The AWC is proud to help support Manoir Ronald McDonald Montreal.
